Edgar Allan Poe has been summoned from beyond to discuss his life and present his works at HVL.

Edgar’s ghost will share his achievements, highlights from his career, and perform from memory some of his greatest works. You may count on recitations of “The Raven”, “The Bells” and “Annabel Lee” and a couple of his tales of terror, like “Cask of Amontillado.” He enjoys when the audience asks questions and is surprised that he is often misunderstood, and so relishes the opportunity to set the record straight.

Presenter: Helen McKenna. Helen McKenna has been performing Poe since high school. She is a retired Park Ranger who worked at the Edgar Allan Poe National Historic Site in Philadelphia, and earned her Masters in English and undergraduate degree in Theater Arts from Rutgers University. 

This program is intended for adults and teens.
