History’s Mysteries of Colonial America, Mon., Nov. 16, 7 pm
The vast majority of people creating the 13 colonies arrived from Great Britain. They came for adventure, economic opportunity, and religious freedom. They brought with them British culture and values. However, with time, they began to adopt new ideas and beliefs, and expressed themselves with new grammar and dialects.

This program provides an educational and entertaining look at the life and culture of colonial America and examines many entertaining and historical events and cultural phenomena. Find out more about why men have their hand in their waistcoat, the first American submarine, why the British soldiers wear red, ideas of American innovation, and the meaning behind the “fishy” man was “gut-foundered!”
