Creative Writing Workshop for Teens w/YA Author, Vincent Tirado, Thurs., Oct. 16, 6:30 pm

Meet Pura Belpre Award winning Young Adult author, Vincent Tirado, for an interactive creative writing workshop!

During this hands-on workshop, participants will study the Hero’s Journey story structure and work on their own short stories.

Vincent Tirado is the author of several YA thrillers, including We Don’t Swim Here (2023) and Burn Down, Rise Up (2022), which won the Pura Belpre Award and was a Bram Stoker and Lambda Literary Award finalist. Vincent also has a short story in the YA anthology, The Black Girl Survives in This One (2024) and recently published their first adult fiction work, We Came to Welcome You (2024). 

Those who attend will also take home a new copy of We Don’t Swim Here or Burn Down, Rise Up!

For students in grades 7-12.
