Feb. 23 Teen Reading Lounge Delectable Drama

Teen Reading Lounge

Join us for the final Teen Reading Lounge Delectable Drama event on Thursday, February 23 at 6:30 pm!

At this NO-STRESS discussion group for Teens in grades 6-8, we will enjoy free pizza and discuss the various aspects that go into taking a play from script to stage, including sets, props, costumes, lights, sound, and blocking. Teens will then be split into small groups to work on scenes from Peter and the Starcatcher by Rick Elice, keeping all of those aspects in mind, before performing the scenes for the rest of the group.Peter and the Starcatcher

Registration is requested – Sign Up Today!

First 4 Teens to register online (and did not receive a book at the previous session) will receive a free copy of the play! Additional YA books will be raffled off at the event.

At the most recent Teen Reading Lounge on February 2, we discussed the psychology of a character and how to connect to a character. Teens then performed cold readings of monologues from plays by Carmen Rivera, Neil Simon, Tom Stoppard, Jim Grimsley, August Wilson, Lynn Nottage, and David Lindsay-Abaire.

Save the Date for our SPECIAL Teen Reading Lounge Author Visit with Young Adult dystopian novelist Alex London on Thursday, March 16!
