Nov. 10 Teen Reading Lounge Poetry Pizza Party

Teen Reading Lounge

Join us for the next Teen Reading Lounge Poetry Pizza Party on Thursday, November 10 at 6:30 pm!

Poet and educator Lynn Levin leads this NO STRESS discussion group for Teens in grades 6-8. We will read works by popular and up-and-coming poets and learn how to write fun, unique poems while enjoying free pizza and good company!

Registration is requested – Sign Up Today!

First 5 Teens to register (and did not receive the book at a previous session) will receive a free copy of Levin’s book, Poems for the Writing: Prompts for Poets. Additional YA books will be raffled off at the event.

Poetry10-27.3_editedAt the most recent TRL Poetry Pizza Party on October 27, the Teens wrote and shared a Paraclausithyron (poem written from the point of view of someone standing outside a door and speaking to the person on the other side). They also had a very tactful and intelligent conversation about two poems dealing with racism, The Ballad of Rudolph Reed by Gwendolyn Brooks and Stupid Vanilla by Denise Duhamel.

Save the Date for the final Poetry Pizza Party on December 1!
