Teen Holiday Reading Challenge

Teens, celebrate your love of reading this holiday season! No matter which holidays you celebrate or don’t, we welcome you to revel in reading between November 21 and January 1.

How does it work?
  1. Fill out our online registration form. The form can be filled out anytime during the challenge and only needs to be filled out once.
  2. Starting on November 21, record your reading time using our online reading log. Record your time as often as you want during the challenge (through January 1).
  3. Submit your hours all at once or every time you read – whatever works best for you!

What counts toward your reading time?

EVERYTHING! Fiction, non-fiction, audiobooks, digital books, graphic novels, magazines, assigned reading for school … If you’re reading, it counts! book-heart-748904_1920

Who can participate?

Students in grades 6-12

Are there prizes?

YES! Every student who completes at least one online reading log can come into the library and choose either a prize from our prize box or a book from our Teen Book of Choice Cart (one prize or book per person). Students must be registered in order to be eligible for prizes.

At the end of the challenge, two (2) Grand Prizes ($50 Visa gift cards) will be given away. One grand prize winner will be chosen randomly from all of the students who registered and the other grand prize winner will be the student who reads the most during the challenge. Grand prize winners will be called during the first week of 2019.

HAPPY READING!
