Teen Summer Reading Program Begins June 25

Libraries Rock at Huntingdon Valley Library’s Teen Summer Reading Program!

Registration begins on

June 25

Visit our volunteers at the registration table to pick up a goodie bag, a schedule of events, and start reading!

Teens and preteens entering grades 6-12 have two ways to participate this year. Challenge yourself and set your own reading goal in our reading program. Participants will win prizes from our sponsors when they reach their goal milestones. For those who want to try something different, we also have Summer Quest Bingo this year. Complete activities on your bingo sheet to earn a special prize.

All participants will have the opportunity to earn raffle tickets toward our three Grand Prize Raffle baskets. Raffle winners will be drawn and notified on August 10, the day after the Closing Party.Alex-London-HVL-Web

Teen Summer Reading events kick off on Thursday, July 28 with a visit from charismatic young adult novelist Alex London. Additional Thursday evening events include a Bollywood Dance Workshop & Henna, DIY Candy, World Instrument Jam, Scratch Art CDs, and the Closing Party on August 9 featuring a game of Family Feud. Additionally, there will also be two coding sessions for middle schoolers on July 17 & 26 and a weekly Rock Band Club on Friday afternoons.

Most events require online registration. For more information and to register, please visit our online Calendar.

Thank you to our sponsors—the Friends of Huntingdon Valley Library, Dairy Queen of Bethayres, Sushiman, and Lee’s Hoagie House of Southampton—for making our Teen Summer Reading Program possible!
