Come hear from a hiker who has accomplished the famous Appalachian Trail not once but twice AND in each direction! Hiker Lauralee Bliss “Blissful”, an AT 4,000+ miler and the ridgerunner for Shenandoah National Park, will share stories and pictures from her 4,000 mile journey which she undertook northbound with her teen son and then southbound as a solo hiker. This presentation will inspire you to reach for your hiking dreams, whatever they might be. A book signing for her title Mountains, Madness, Miracles – 4,000 Miles Along the Appalachian Trail follows.

Lauralee BlissLauralee Bliss is a two-time Appalachian Trail long distance hiker (2007, 2010-2011) and current section hiker, logging over 6,000 miles and is currently section hiking the trail for a third time. She has also completed other long distance trails including the Long Trail of Vermont, the Foothills Trail in SC, the Allegheny Trail of West VA and the trails in Shenandoah National Park. Currently Lauralee serves as the ridgerunner in Shenandoah National Park, assisting long distance hikers on the Appalachian Trail.

Lauralee has conducted presentations for the Appalachian Trail Conservancy, Potomac Appalachian Trail Club, Shenandoah National Park, REI Inc., Appalachian Long Distance Hikers Association, Boy Scouts of America, libraries, and school groups. She is also the founder of the popular Facebook group Appalachian Trail Section Hikers nearing 24,000 members.
