Teen Reading Lounge Returns

Teen Reading Lounge

Huntingdon Valley Library was one of only 13 libraries across the state chosen by Pennsylvania Humanities Council (PHC) for a Teen Reading Lounge (TRL) continuation grant.

We first hosted TRL last year and are excited to continue the program this fall with Poetry Pizza Parties.

Poet and educator Lynn Levin leads this NO STRESS discussion group for Teens grades 6-8.

Mark your Calendar for each of these 6:30 pm Poetry Pizza Parties:

  • Thursday, October 6
  • Thursday, October 27
  • Thursday, November 10
  • Thursday, December 1

We will read works by popular and up-and-coming poets, including YA authors Beth Kephart and Melissa Jensen. The group will also learn how to write fun, unique poems while enjoying pizza and good company!

Teen Reading Lounge FlyerFirst 15 Teens who register will receive a free copy of Levin’s book, Poems for the Writing: Prompts for Poets.

Registration is requested – Sign Up Today!

Teen Reading Lounge will continue with three sessions on theatre in the winter months and two sessions on a dystopian young adult novel in the spring. We will soon send out a survey asking for your help in choosing which novel to read!

All TRL events will include food, discussion and the chance to win free YA books. We hope to see you there!

Teen Reading Lounge is a program of the Pennsylvania Humanities Council and supported in part by the National Endowment for the Humanities. Learn more about PHC and the program at www.pahumanities.org.
